Day 8 . May 29, 2008
Yosemite Park!

Time for some HIKING! Does anyone recognize the title of this entry? Props for you if you do (and possibly a prize)!

So we went to Yosemite Park, which was beautiful! I forced my family to do a lot of hiking ... it stressed them out a little. Hahaha. It is also my promote Alpha Kappa Psi day, as you can tell by my hoodie! I'm on top of the world! Oh and ... if someone can tell me something about my shorts (there's something specific) I'll give you props too! ^_^

See this fall? Its called Vernal Falls. I made my sister climb up to the top! 4 whopping miles! I think she got pissed at me ><. We made it!!! Its beautiful! Long way down. The way up was slippery and made up of A LOT of steps. If anyone is wondering about what happened to our parents, they stopped halfway.
Nature is beautiful, hiking is fun! I actually wanted to do more hiking, but the answer was ... NO. Wahh, maybe I'll try to do so in Australia! Even though its winter over there!

On another note - I'm behind by a day - So the next time I blog, I MIGHT BE IN AUSTRALIA! I'm leaving Saturday night ... HERE WE GO! <3

In Which I Find Trees, Trees, and More Tree

Day 7 . May 28, 2008
Sequoia Park!

As you may have noticed, I skipped Day 6. It was a recovery day for us ... we really did not do much. Beach, walk, eat, sleep. Hahaha. The next two days are to be major hiking days (supposedly)

But then we went to Sequoia Park, which was kinda cool with all its HUGE Sequoia trees. At first it was really foggy and kinda creepy ... sorta like a horror movie!
We even decided to climb up Moro Rock, which is about 400 steps up to the top (I think it was only a little over a mile round trip) to see the so called fantastic view and what do we get ... THIS! FOG EVERYWHERE.

When it did clear up, we were walking around the park just checking out the trees.

We then saw this ADORABLE fox on the road. My parents were freaked, but I think it looks rather cute!

My new home if Lisa kicks me out! ^_^

Back to Universal!

My family and I decide to go back to Universal to see some shows ... Today was a pretty slow day. I couldn't find spongebob! They took him away!

Bye universal!

What REALLY made the day was this ... after Universal, we went to this farmers market to do some SHOPPING and we got ... PINKBERRY! But I forgot to take a picture and we started eating like CRAZY. Yummy! (I also took a giftcard for my collection!)

California ... California ... here we come!!!

Day 4 . May 24, 2008
Hollywood and Santa Monica!

Chinese Theater ... it was SO crowded outside ... it was like a mosh pit with everyone trying to find the stars!

But I found Harry Potter!!! Emma Watson's feet are so cute! I didn't have time to try them on since so many people were trying to get a picture! boo...

I was able to pause in front of Will Smith's though, which made me really happy. His message is really simple but powerful - Change the World. A truly awesome message that we should live up to.
And yes, those are my feet in his shoes. Dayamn.
If you go to LA, you should be prepared to see LOTS of these pretty purple trees. They are Jacaranda trees. When we were driving around Hollywood and getting lost, I kept asking my mom who has a huge library of flowers and plant names in her head what the tree was, but she had no idea. My dad happened to pull over to look for directions when this guy stopped to ask us if we were okay. Instead of asking for directions, my dad asks him the name of the tree. hahaha. Thanks to the guy for being kind enough to stop!
AND if you look closely enough at this picture, you'll see a wedding occurring - the salmon colored dress are bridesmaids - the bride and groom are to the right of the picture.

Rodeo - let me just say that window shopping actually gets kinda boring when you CANNOT afford anything. I wish. I wish.

Finally, we went to Santa Monica to check out the Pacific Ocean! Sorry California, I'm still a Florida beach bum! The ocean in California just isn't the same color and prettiness as the one in Florida (maybe I'm just biased)! But Santa Monica was still very pretty!

Day 3 . May 23, 2008
Universal Studios! Los Angeles

First off, the weather here? GROSS. What is up with the rain. I leave Pittsburgh to get away from the rain, I bring it with me to California. YUCK.

Jay ... I COULDN'T FIND SPONGEBOB!!! BUT I should be going back, so I will TRACK HIM DOWN =( So sad!!!

My sister and I refused to go into the haunted house, so then we took pictures with Shrek and Fiona (my namesake).

We then saw Curious George, and my WHOLE family apparently loves him to pieces. First my sister ...

Then my dad ...

Then my mom!

Finally, I get a picture with Curious George!!!

But let me tell you a story about how Curious George tried to steal my dad's hat ... my dad then proceeded to try to strangle Curious George! OMG.

The worker was like ... WHAT ARE YOU DOING!

But everything turned out okay in the end! hahaha.

Except that my sister and I almost got eaten by JAWS!

but then we ended up in Whoville! Anna and Jay ... where are we? hahaha.

Around the World in ... 2 days!

So for those of you who have no idea, or need a refresher - I'll be traveling (with my family) to Las Vegas for 2 days, Los Angeles for 4, San Francisco for 3. After that, I will proceed to leave my family in the United States and go to Australia for three weeks!

Day One . May 21, 2008:
I don't even need to go to Australia ... Vegas has half the countries I want to see!!!

On the plane over to Las Vegas ... this is view out the window ... FOR ABOUT TWO HOURS. And that was only for the portion of the plane ride that I was awake for. hahaha.

Our hotel - Excalibur on Las Vegas Blvd. Of course, my mom picks the castle for us to live in. If you look at the ad - the second one down on the right, it says "Thunder from Down Under" ... meaning Australia ... I wonder if all guys in Australia look like that. HAHAHA.

Yeah, I did not find a prince. WHAT A HORRIBLE CASTLE. jk!

Excalibur at night. Kinda cool the way it glows! One thing I have to say about Las Vegas - they waste A LOT of energy leaving those lights on!
